Go Mets

As you know, any support for the Cubs is sacrilege in this household. I don't mind, actually, but Mike is a diehard Cardinals fan and intends to raise his children accordingly. So it was a little disappointing that Anna's first baseball game was right here at Wrigley.

On Saturday, we joined our friends for a Cubs vs. Mets match up. The stadium is so loud and the seats so cramped that we weren't sure we were going to make it through the entire game, but Anna handled it very well. She always surprises us. The events we think will end up in disaster typically go alright, but then again the "quiet" days at home can suddenly turn tragic.... we're still learning. But back to the game...

Anna was the star of section 205. Everyone loves a baby and that also applies to baseball crowds. At first, Anna slept on Mike's chest in the baby bjorn, but the cheers and the music were too loud and she woke up in the second inning. Amazingly, she was in a pretty decent mood, but insisted that I hold her (that's actually a new phase she's going through). As long as she was in my arms she was alright, smiling at the fans around us and even concentrating enough to eat most of her bottle.

For a first game, we were pretty pleased. It may not be the Cardinals, but it's a good foundation for her first "real" game, right?

Anna looks sweet. I don't know who your friend is next to Mike, but he looks a little fearful of her :) I'm pretty sure I won't be afraid of her when I meet her in a matter of weeks!
