One word - IKEA
I know there will come a time when our furniture doesn't require multiple screw drivers, drills or rubber mallets. There will come a time when we won't need to follow directions in a 37 page booklet in order to construct a new dresser.
But that time, that time is not now.
For today we are buried in IKEA boxes and little plastic bags of dowels and screws. After spending three hours and way too much money at their Bolingbrook store, IKEA now owns a little part of our soul. Swedish design and low, low prices... you've bested us once again.
editor's note: many, many thanks to Mike, our furniture-putter-togetherer. we could NOT do this without you.

I heart ikea
really? that time is coming? I do not believe it is possible for any of us.
also - gotta love the 37 page booklets of instructions that all show the little stick man building the stuff but do not really include any words...
I just have to add that I was SUPPOSED to be putting together a dresser from said IKEA this week, however, my lameass husband was not so enthusiastic. I still managed to spend $200 (on what, I have NO idea). I love IKEA. Maybe more than I should.
