BUT SHE DOESN'T NEED A NAP...

An actual conversation tonight while Anna is playing in the bathtub.

Anna (groggy with sleep): Mom, can you wrap me up in a blanket and take me to the doctor?
Me: Why do you need to go to the doctor?
Anna: Because my tooth is loose.*
Me: So you want me to take you to the dentist because your tooth is loose? Why do I need to wrap you up in a blanket?
Anna: (long pause) Because (another long pause), because... my shoes are too tight.

But, she's not tired. Noooo. Nope, not tired. Perfectly coherent.

*A copy of The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist has prompted numerous declarations that her tooth is loose.

I must speak fluent toddlers these days because that makes perfect sense to me!

too funny.

also funny b/c part of our bath/bed routine with Georgia now is called "wrappy baby" which means that when she gets out of the tub you have to wrap her up in the towel like a baby, then carry her in your arms downstairs (like a baby). Oh, and roll her onto the bed when you get there. Oh, and let her hit every light switch on the way -- with her feet. Of course, this is critically important to the whole routine. : )
