So we did it! We, meaning Mike and my brother Andy, built the garden bed this weekend.
First, Mike built the actual bed in our garage. He'd found some instructions online and studied it beforehand so it came together really quickly.
Next, we enlisted my brother to help dig out the ground so we could level it off... this was much harder than it looked. I got shoved out of the way because I was slowing down the process. However, I'm glad they took charge of the heavy digging, it would have taken a weakling like me forever.
Then we returned the dirt back to the new garden bed, but distributed it differently so that it was more even.
Abe secured the perimeter and watched for potential threats to our project. Thankfully, he found no perpetrators.
A few hours and one trip to Home Depot later (for soil), we have this to show for it!!

Strong work Mike and Andy! I can't wait to see all of the yummy food that comes out of that garden!
That's awesome! You should paint that wood...could do something really fun w/ it :)
