Thank goodness we completed Abe's final snow shovel training last week. Mike was getting so exhausted having to do it all himself.
Actually Abe loves his little snow shovel so much that every time we go to the garage he runs directly to it. And when we take it out of his little hands, he cries and screams and arches his back and makes it nearly impossible for us to put him in the car seat. This blizzard will be the best thing he's ever experienced in his short life.
Sadly, the snow may be taller than him. Not to mention the little guy has a terrible time keeping his mittens on so we can hardly let him shovel for more than a few minutes before we have to take him inside. Then I have to hold Abe up to the window so he can watch Mike do the real work. We window hop as Mike makes his way down our driveway and back.
It's hard to say what he loves more - shoveling like his Dada or just being near his Dada. It's a toss up. These days Abe sits by the back door or aimlessly paces around, awaiting Mike's return from work each night. When Mike walks up those back stairs, Abe lets out the biggest yelp you've ever heard and smashes his face up against the door. Sometimes I think Mike's heart will melt right there on the deck.
Our little lovebirds.
