Introducing...

Hello, we'd like you to meet our newest family member. Will. Will, the fish.

After a somewhat traumatic trip to the dentist last week, I decided Anna and I would head to the nearby PetSmart and check out the puppies. Those of you who know me will not be surprised to hear that I have NEVER been to a PetSmart. They don't even sell puppies there.

They do, however, have some cats you can adopt, so we took a quick look at the kitties and started wandering around the store. Anna had just had a cavity filled and though she made it through, she was out of sorts and the dentist told me I should let her run around the park or something to help the numbness evaporate more quickly. Well, if it hadn't be approximately 475 degrees outside that's exactly where we would have headed.

Instead we found ourselves looking at the fish and now we have Will. A Beta fish. That's a Japanese fighting fish so we can't have any other type of fish in there with him. It would not be pretty.

Anna has been feeding the fish, talking to the fish, and seems to be quite proud of this new caretaker role she has assumed. Abe only once tried to dig Will out of the fish bowl with a sand shovel.

And check out the groovy little fish tank. Cool, right? Totally not your standard round fish bowl.

We're happy with our new addition. In the realm of pets, this one I think we can handle.

cute! and cute tank. I think that people's beta fishes sometimes last quite a while - as opposed to goldfish...

We just went through the same thing! I 'm not even going to tell you have many cavities Byron had. They had to do them in 2 different appointments.:(

That is a cute tank! Almost makes me want one of my own :) My goldfish, Shanika, lived for about 3 years and nearly died more than once. I finally killed her when I dumped too much food in her tank and assumed she could survive it. Make sure Anna doesn't overfeed Will!!
