Anna and Abe

We took these photos on Mother's Day. And while I have another post in my head about that morning, I couldn't resist posting these photos. Sheesh, they just keep growing. It's like every day they get a little bigger. And older.

Enough already.

Anna is six years old. And in our family that means she is nothing but elbows and knees and awkwardness. She still spills her drinks on a regular basis because her limbs are not fully under her command. And she sings her heart out to "pop star" songs, complete with swaying body movements and half-correct lyrics and facial contortions. She literally spinned herself dizzy while rocking out to Adele's Set Fire to the Rain... whilst standing in the corner of a japanese restaurant.

And Abe. He's full of adult phrases that don't quite fit. Like when he told me we could give one of his books to GoodWill because it's so exhausting. And that he wanted Mike to come home fast because we need more meat. And when he can't quite understand you, he yells, "TALK LOUDER." And when you can't understand him, he takes both your cheeks in his strong little hands and says, "YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO WHAT I'M TALKING BOUT." He never stops speaking and I hate that I can never remember all the funny comments he has made during the course of the day.

This stage is full of such joy. Too bad it's also full of frustrations. I remember my old co-worker, when asked how his children were, saying that his kids were a constant joy. And simultaneously a pain in the neck. That's so true. But I love this age. I know I will miss this because I sort of already miss it. I miss each laughing moment as soon as it's completed.

It's just amazing that we did this. That we made this family with these kids at this point in our life. That the stars aligned to bring us all together. It's really something.

So I was going to ask why Abe is in a sweater in June but then I saw that the pics were from Mother's Day. That makes more sense. I was afraid it was still cold up there in JUNE!!! Can't wait to see you guys again in a couple of weeks:) -Love Aunt Pam
