To my surprise, Abe walked right into the classroom with her and joined in. I had been a little nervous that his attention span might not lend itself to a quiet yoga setting. But this kid class is part yoga and breathing and part craft project and part movement exercise. No previous meditation experience required.
Today a fellow mother sat next to me on the couch in the sitting room while we waited for our kids. She asked me if my son was named Abe.
Yes...
She told me that last week the kids were asked to name one thing they were grateful for. Many children said Jesus or God. There must have been a spiritual theme going on with the kids that day, she reported.
But not Abe. Abe said he was grateful for donuts.
That's my boy.
