We had a leisurely breakfast. Cereal, smoothies, and Abe sneaked the giant bag of Pirate Booty into the living room and wolfed down nearly half of it. So much for keeping crumbs out of the living room.
I set aside 30 minutes for school time. This typically means my children concentrate for 3-5 minutes and spend the rest of the time running around and "setting up" their school area with things like pencils and stickers and pirate booty. We killed that bag of Pirate Booty today.
They changed into swimsuits and we headed to swim lessons. Abe's little friend Lincoln came home with us. My children were truly quite a sight because I had a major MOM FAIL moment. Completely forgot to bring their dry clothes -- and I discovered this after they had finished showering. Thank goodness, Anna's swimsuit cover up was in the bottom of our swim bag and I found an old dirty t-shirt for Abe to wear. It was long enough to cover his private parts until he started running down the hill to the parking lot. I'm fairly sure a few people saw his little white bum.
We had lunch and play time. The boys were in the backyard when I saw them bolt to the front of the house... music filled the air. It was the ice cream truck. Normally, I put the kibosh on this. I love me some ice cream but I just never have cash with me and, let's face it, this isn't even good ice cream. It's freezer burned and has a highly unnatural look to it.
But today I had "some dollars" for Abe to use and I let everyone buy ice cream.
Yes, that blue ice cream left him with a blue chin and blue teeth. However, my chocolate and vanilla ice cream did not. So you don't need to lose any sleep over that issue. I'm good.
I let the children watch a few episodes of Transformers Rescue Bots. And I should probably admit that I kinda like that show myself. When I laid with Abe in his bed tonight and he talked and talked and talked about the Rescue Bots and which ones could transform in to certain things and perform certain feats and which ones were the funniest and which ones were the strongest and which ones he still had lingering questions about (Bumblebee, mainly), I realized that I can actually hold my own on this topic.
So now it's 8:41 p.m. and I'm debating whether to read or to watch a show on my laptop or just close my eyes. Mike worked very late every night last week (even Friday) and this week has been a repeat. I'm grateful for his steady work, don't get me wrong, but I'm also zonked. My head is full of good intentions and tasks to complete... and, apparently, information regarding the Rescue Bots.
Perhaps it's best to close up shop now. Anna gets to have her postponed play date and I know that will brighten her week. And I will have my weekly, "How is it already Thursday?" moment. Seriously, how is it Thursday already?

Just commenting to say: impressed with your Rescue Bots knowledge, because I have gotten really bad about ever watching the shows with my kids. I used to monitor stuff better. Now it's like, if the TV is on, duh, the whole point is for me to NOT be right there with them... I know that's not ideal, just being honest here. : )
We like Abe's style! Thanks for sharing your love of Pirate's Booty in your post. Don't forget you can download coupons from our website--save before you buy. Enjoy!
