PARENTHOOD, HERE WE COME
So here we are, pre-pregnancy, blissfully unaware of how soon our lives would change. Those were such nice days, filled with sushi, wine with dinner, a time when Maggie could stay awake past 10 o'clock. We sometimes miss those days.

But, alas, there are even more exciting times ahead for us in this great human experiment we call parenthood. For those of you who don't know, we're officially through the first trimester now and sharing the news with all our friends and family. If we haven't told you personally and you learned from someone else - we apologize, it's been hard trying to figure out when the right time to tell everyone is and so we often end up just emailing randomly and catching people when we can.

This blog will be a way for everyone to keep tabs on our progress and learn our thoughts and fears (okay, Maggie's the more fearful one) as we traverse through the next six months. We'll try to keep it updated every couple of weeks.

For those of you who don't know our progress to date: So far, we've had 4 trips to the doctor and we were actually able to hear the heartbeat during our last visit. Talk about a crazy experience. The fetal heartbeat just sounds like a really fast woosh, woosh, woosh, sound. She really had to search for the heartbeat because my gastrointestinal tract was apparently trying to digest an entire grocery store, but our doctor says it will get stronger with each visit. The books say this baby is already 2.5 inches long. Hard to believe something so small can pack such a wallop. Maggie has been really exhausted, sleeping a ton, and a lot of indigestion and some nausea. Luckily, no horrible sickness. All in all, we're glad to be entering the second trimester and hope it will be a little more energy-filled and enjoyable.

That's all we have to report right now. Stay tuned for more updates.
