So tomorrow is the big day we've been waiting for - our 20 week ultrasound. For those of you who are unfamiliar, this is the big day when you can finally see the baby (after a drought of no sonograms for the last two months) and you can find out the gender. We are so excited to see our little baby. It's funny how much we look forward to doctor's appointments now.
I started googling 20 week ultrasound just to get a feel for what we're going to be seeing and I'm a little worried because I can't seem to make heads or tails of these photos (literally). Even the ones with the lines out to the side that say "head" and "leg" are still not much help to me. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes, but my mom tells me I should just sit there and make them keep pointing it out until I finally see it. Wouldn't that be hilarious if I stayed for like an hour... they'd kick me out I'm sure.
For those of you who are wondering if we'll be posting the gender tomorrow after the appointment, you'll have to keep waiting. We're going to have the doctor put it in an envelope and wait and open it later. Sorry kids, the speculation will have to continue until then. Mostly, we just want her to tell us that it looks like a healthy little 20 week old fetus. That's the big goal.
So this weekend my darling husband took me to Lake Geneva, it's a little lake resort town in Wisconsin, for a night at a hotel there. It was incredibly relaxing. We had a great dinner - I actually snarfed down abut half of Mike's ribeye, don't ask me why, I'm not even a huge meat eater, but I honed in on it as soon as it hit the table (that and the garlic mashed potatoes. Yum!)
Then Saturday morning I had a prenatal massage, which is essentially a normal massage but they make you lay down on this plastic thing that has a hole for your belly. It was great. I told Mike we may have to make another trip up there before this kid arrives. I wish I had pictures to post of the trip, but we're HORRIBLE about taking pictures and this trip was yet another example of that fault. I promise to be better b/c I am sure it's more fun to look at a blog with pictures, so stay tuned for future photos.
Look for another post tomorrow :-)
