So, it's the third week of January, and we had our first change of plans due to the baby - a few weeks earlier than expected. We were supposed to do a marathon baby shower weekend, with showers planned in both Columbia and Saint Louis on consecutive days, but the entire state of Missouri got slammed by a major ice and sleet storm starting on Friday, and our drive home was forecast as nothing but sleet and snow, so we had to cancel both for risk of getting in an accident with Maggie and the little one inside her. Unfortunately, we are not sure that we will be able to reschedule, because it's getting harder and harder for Maggie to sit for long periods, and we start three straight weekends of baby classes next week.
So, I guess this will be the first of many plans that have to change suddenly due to the baby. We were upset that we had to cancel, but I don't think this will be the last time plans change rapidly due to having a baby to worry about.
Maggie had a check-up this week, and was half a pound underweight, so she has been eating more. The doctor said it is normal, but if she is underweight at the next check-up, they will try to figure out what is going on. She is also showing as two weeks further along than previously thought, which the doctor said is also normal.
Otherwise everything is going well. We are starting to build the nursery, but still have to decide on a crib and furniture, whichis a decision Maggie needs to make.
