What a Kicker!

Finally! We can now feel the baby kicking. It's really more like an exaggerated twitch, but you can definitely feel it. We'd been told it would feel like "flutters" or popcorn popping, but it doesn't really feel like that to me. It feels more like a twitch or a push from deep inside my belly. Mike can feel it when he puts his hand on my belly, which he now does every few minutes in hopes he will feel something. It seems to be triggered whenever I eat and it's particularly frequent in the morning and evenings.

The baby books all say that the baby has distinct periods of sleep and awake right now - but they don't necessarily correspond to when I'm awake or asleep. So I have a theory that the baby sleeps during the afternoon and then wakes up around dinner time. And this kid must really feel cozy in one certain place because I feel it move in the same place each time. It's always in my right side. Never on the left.

It's very exciting because we've been waiting forever to feel this. It started last week, but I just wasn't sure, but then I had Mike press on my side to see if he also felt something move in there and he DEFINITELY felt it. So it's good to know I'm not imagining things.

We'll be in St. Louis for Thanksgiving. For those of you traveling- please be SAFE and have a wonderful holiday.
