Shots
Anna received her two month immunizations yesterday. She's a week early for them but we went in for a "weigh in" to see how her weight was progressing and the doc offered to do the two month appointment right then rather than having us coming in next week. I gladly took him up on the offer because it meant I didn't need to make another trip to the office... and then I remembered the two month appointment is no ordinary visit - it's the big ol' give-your-kid-three-shots visit.
Let me tell you, this was not a fun day. Anna let out the biggest scream I've ever heard and sobbed for 15 minutes afterward. The poor thing came home with two brightly colored band-aids on her legs (actually they almost encircled her little thighs entirely), war wounds I suppose. She has had a low grade fever for the last 24 hours and is very sleepy and clingy. This is totally normal, but it's still tough to watch. Our poor baby is just not feeling well.
Personally, I thought I did pretty well by not crying along with her while she got the shots. I did, however, beg for her forgiveness and repeat about a thousand times in her ear that I was so so sorry and that I was only doing it to protect her... Think she understood?

Poor Anna:-( She is so tough!!
I think she understood. She knows her mama loves her.
absolutely - just like she'll understand everything that you do for her own good, of course, until she can talk and then all bets are off
love, love, love
