Of All the Things to Inherit

It looks like Anna has inherited her mother's teeth. This weekend we discovered a second tooth breaking through the gumline right next to her first one. And it appears as though both teeth are... crooked.

Our pediatrician says baby teeth sometimes come in crooked but straighten out over time. But, I'm no fool. If this kid is 50% me, there will be braces and countless other mouth contraptions required throughout pivotal social years.

I'm sorry, sweetheart, but your parents are starting the orthodontia fund now.

You could get her a grill for her teeth. You know, do it up real STL style-a nod to Nelly.

But hey, at least you're willing to buy her braces-my parents decided not to-they were done after my two retainers and bionator.

But, you don't NEED braces! You've got good teeth!!

You may be right Maggie. The lineage isn't very good in that area, but look at it this way: you're taking something that's already precious and making it even better. (Grandparents like to be philosophical). :)
