Tickle Time! (by Mike)

So one of my favorite things to do to Anna is have Daddy tickle time. Starting with the first diaper change when she wakes up in the morning, when I tickle Anna's feet, through the raspberries I give her on her neck when I get home from work, a lot of the time I spend with Anna during the day consists of me tickling her in some fashion, and her giggling and squirming to get away from me. Until this week, that is, when Anna turned the tables.

Earlier this week, Anna learned how to tickle. She walks over to you, places her hands balled up in little fists on your side, leg or arm, and then opens and closes her fists, making her fingers brush up against you as she does so. As she does it, she giggles uncontrollably as you laugh along with her. It's amazing to me that she has figured out how to do this and that she knows how funny it is supposed to be. If you don't laugh when she tickles you (which happens when you don't quite realize at first that she is tickling you rather that trying to get your attention), she'll stop and look at you until you laugh back. She even will tickle Maggie or me upon command if one of us tells her to go tickle the other.

My favorite tickle story this week came when I whispered in Anna's ear that she should go tickle Mama, who was sitting on the couch across the room. Anna walked over, stood next to Maggie, reached out her little fists, grabbed the couch cushion to the left of Maggie's leg and proceeded to tickle the couch cushion while giggling the whole time. Between you and me, I think the couch was pretty surprised to be tickled like that.

She is too cute. I got goose bumps reading the story and thinking what a big kick she gets out of tickling. Anna can tickle Aunt Pam anytime.
