Happy Mother's Day

First, a very happy Mother's Day to all the lovely moms we know, including our good friend Cara who is actually giving birth AS WE SPEAK.

Mike and Anna took me to one of our favorite breakfast spots, Ann Sathers, which was where we spent last Mother's Day also. My, my how times have changed. Last year we were able to sit and eat at a leisurely pace with Anna asleep next to us in her carrier. This year we ate quickly while the wiggling Anna waved at other babies, flirted with the hostess and our neighboring diners, and then began to climb out of her high chair (difficult because she's strapped in) and claw herself toward her father.

All in all, it was great though. Our plans for a long walk and afternoon at the park were marred by rain and wind (cuz in Chicago it's STILL not summer) so Mike agreed to give me a Mother's Day fun afternoon rain check. I'm dreaming of a walk by the lake and a picnic lunch... well, maybe by July it will be warm enough.

Free from the high chair at last...
now I can plot how to jump out of Daddy's arms next
Um, how did she get this big already?? Anyone? Anyone?

Happy Mother's Day!!
