You could say we're a little behind on the blog posts. Here are some pics from Memorial Day Weekend. We had a blast seeing friends and family in Missouri. Though we love Chicago, it was hard to pull ourselves away from everyone we love.
We spent a lot of time outdoors, visiting my family's graves and placing flowers on the headstones of my grandparents and extended family (including my Grandma Madge, who holds a very dear place in my heart, which is why Anna's middle name is Madge). Although I believe my grandma watches over Anna every day, there was something about "introducing" Anna to my grandma that felt very important to me. I'm so glad we were able to make that happen during this trip.
Aside from feeling like we were placed directly inside a preheated oven, we loved being outside for much of the time. Anna had a blast running around in the grass and trees at Grandma and Grandpa Roth's house and watching the neighborhood kids run around. Sometimes you can't beat a good romp in the yard.
We also spent a lot of time with my mother and my two aunts who visited from their homes in Kansas City and Floriday. Anna got lots of good cuddle time with Grandma and great aunts.
We made the trip last year this time when Anna was just a few weeks old. To think about how much she has changed, now a little person in her own right with her own personality and desires (even if they are simple), is so amazing. Our little girl is not just our little baby, she is becoming a spectacular little person...

Love the flower picture! Oh how I miss peonies!
I continue to be amazed watching Anna grow and explore, and whatever stage she's at always thinking to myself, "Wow. Is Georgia going to be doing that in 4 1/2 months?" It's like, all so advanced to me. I wonder when this will stop, or if when the girls are both 15, I'll still be saying, "Wow, Anna's so advanced." : )
