Weighing in at...

20 lbs. That's the latest weigh in. The latest height is 29.5 inches, but I don't trust the measurement. Anna was squealing and twisting so much during the doctor's appointment that the attempt to get her measurements ended up being more of judgment call. Nevertheless, every time we pick Anna up, we become more and more aware that this kid is GROWING. And in so many ways!

Her vocabulary is definitely picking up speed, with new words popping up each day. I've decided I'm going to make a list tonight and then try to work those words into sentences. Yesterday, out of nowhere she said girl and then today when I was giving her a bath she kept taking the wash cloth and putting it around her and saying what I'm pretty sure was back. Plus, tonight when I was changing her diaper she kept saying dah, dah, dah, with this steady inflection as if she was counting. I don't know that she was trying to "count" but there's just this gut feeling that she was trying to do something like that. Anna's little playmate has started counting, which for him means saying "two, two, two" over and over again. I just love that. We'll see if I get any farther along in my counting detective work tomorrow.

In the meantime, Anna is a healthy growing girl and for that we are quite thankful. Each doctor's appointment brings an opportunity for professional confirmation that she is doing well. For me, it is always a relief to hear it from an expert.

It's wonderful to hear that she is doing so well. Pretty soon she'll be talking up a storm. I can't wait for aunt and niece chatting time. I would like to see a new picture of her. I feel it's been too long since I've seen her. Take care and hope to see you guys soon.
