Noooooooo (by Mike)

Anna has learned a new word in the past few days, and I'll give you one guess what it is.

Yep, No, or as Anna like to say it, "Noooooo." For a long time, Anna has been saying "yeah" anytime you ask her a question. This was a great skill - Anna, do you want to take a nap? "Yeah!" Anna, do you want to change your diaper? "Yeah!" Of course, this was often accompanied by lots of head shaking as if she really meant no, but hey, she said yes, right?

Well, "yeah" has now been joined by its evil cousin,"Nooooo." Of course though, Anna is not quite sure what it means. Anna, do you want some blueberry pancakes? "Noooo." Anna, do you want to go to the park? "Nooooo." Anna, do you want to eat some graham crackers? "Noooo." AS you can guess, given her reaction if you don't give her blueberry pancakes or graham crackers or take her to the park, hold your ears because the cries will soon follow.

I guess we can count our blessings, because it probably won't take her long to figure out when to say "Nooooo" and when to say "yeah," and I bet that even bigger the temper tantrums won't be far behind. For now though, as with many things my little girl does, "Nooooo" sure is mighty cute.
