Funny things Anna has said recently

Mike: Are you ready to go to bed tonight?
Anna: But will you stay up all night?
Mike: Well, I might stay up a little late. What do you think Mom and I do while you're sleeping at night?
Anna: Um, clean toilets.

*****

Anna: When I grow up I want to be a mom. A plain and simple mom like you.

*****
Scene: Maggie and Anna in the bathroom. Anna sitting on the potty.
Maggie: Anna, are you stopping yourself from going potty?
Anna: Yeah. I stop and then I go and then I stop and then I go. That way it makes music.

*****

Scene: Anna and Abe in her bedroom playing/arguing

Anna: Abe, you shouldn't be so foolish! Stop being so foolish!
Maggie: Anna, don't call Abe foolish. That isn't a very nice thing to say to someone. Where did you learn that word?
Anna: Sunday school. The foolish man built his house upon the sand. (sorry, this will only be funny if you know this story/choir song)

*****
Scene: Anna is in the bathroom, standing on her stool, straining to see herself in the mirror.
Mike: Anna, what are you doing?
Anna: I want to see my face to see if my face is beautiful enough to show Georgia tomorrow
Mike: It looks beautiful to me, but why don't you go look in the mirror in your room
Anna: (after a few moments in her room she starts jumping up and down) IT IS!

I wonder what her plan would have been if her face had NOT been beautiful enough to show Georgia. Too funny. And so sweet that she just wants to be a "plain and simple mom".

I love this post! At least she knows those toilets don't magically clean themselves.

Wow, the pressure these girls put on themselves to be beautiful sure starts at an early age, doesn't it? Must be all those Cosmos you've been letting her read. : )

Does this mean Georgia's going to be one of the "Mean Girls" when she's older?

Anna is of course plenty beautiful to meet our high standards.
