Despite our disastrous week, we pulled it together and celebrated Halloween. Anna was Madeline and Abe was a pumpkin. Cutie patooties, if I do say so myself.
Poor Anna was so tired that we really only hit a few houses on our block and then just called it a day. We almost didn't do anything at all, but we'd been talking about it for so long that it just seemed criminal to not let her go out. Fortunately, she was quite happy to just visit a few neighbors and then return right home. The antibiotic has done a tremendous job of making her feel better so she's considerably healthier right now, just still very tired (and cranky).
We had been practicing a joke with her - just in case she needed to have a trick ready. Here's what we taught her:
Anna: Knock, knock
Neighbor: Who's there?
Anna: Cargo
Neighbor: Cargo who?
Anna: Car go beep beep!
But here's Anna's version (she and a friend think this is hilarious!)
Anna: Knock, knock
Neighbor: Who's there?
Anna: Chihuahua (then laughs hysterically)
As one neighbor put it, oh well, it's off broadway!
