It seems like Anna's room has been "in progress" for so long that I'm tempting fate by declaring it finished, but it is, indeed, finished for now. I guess we're focusing our energies elsewhere now that the big blank wall has been filled.
As of today, here is Anna's room:
(yes, that's a kewpie on her bookshelf!)
A new mirror was added on Sunday. I found this one at an antique store and then just painted it the same color as her bedside table, which was quite an adventure. I took the table into Home Depot and asked them to use their color-matching technology to create the color. It's actually not exact, but it's close enough for my liking. I just didn't want a bright yellow or a baby nursery yellow. It's a darker gray-ish yellow really.
She loves it and has been admiring herself and dancing in front of it for the last few days. I stole the idea of a low mirror from Kate, who has a really cute on in Georgia's room.
And finally we arrive at the perplexing BIG wall that has been staring at me for months. This was a last minute decision that I actually stumbled upon (literally) at Target. There are a lot of cool fabric stickers for walls out there on etsy, but they all seemed rather pricey to me and I wasn't sure I wanted to invest quite that much on what is essentially just an experiement.
However, Target sells plastic wall stickers for just $14.99 so I grabbed a set for Anna's wall and another for Abe's room. In the neverending duel between decorators that I'm sure will last us a lifetime, Anna actually selected the stickers herself and did not pick the one I was pushing :-) But they still look cute and I'm hopeful that when these start peeling off, I can convince her to go for the owls instead.
And there you have it. Anna's room. She is already enjoying the stickers and I am going to cross this room off my list for now. Woo-hoo!

I LOVE this, Maggie! Such a sweet room - perfect for sweet Anna. Nice work!
Looks great! And thanks for the design credit on that low mirror, but I love yours way more than ours! Nicely done with the antique find and the paint job, my friend.
Beautiful room! I love how you have a mix of antique store finds, new items, and hand-made things. It makes it so much more personal. Again, I want to steal the headboard for myself, the vintage globe, and now I have to add that mirror to the list. That's a great find! I want you to take me to some of your favorite thrift stores the next time I'm in Chicago.
Can I fly you to NYC to design my girl's room? I love this! Seriously, nice mix of things and the mirror is awesome. Well done.
